English FA calls for Infantino to release World Cup sell-off documents

The chair of the English Football Association, Debbie Hewitt, has written to Fifa president Gianni Infantino requesting full disclosure of all details related to the abandoned plan to sell a stake in the World Cup to private investors. This request comes ahead of the Fifa Council meeting scheduled for October 15. The proposal was met with widespread opposition, leading to a threat from the European governing body Uefa to boycott all Fifa competitions.

Uefa has also expressed a loss of confidence in Infantino, taking legal action in the US court system to seek documents concerning the private investor plan. The Uefa management board has pledged a review of the situation, though no specifics have been disclosed. Infantino apologized for the handling of the private investor plan in August, and Fifa's management board vowed to conduct an investigation.

However, the outcome of this investigation remains uncertain at this point. Infantino has expressed his intention to seek re-election at the Fifa Congress in March, scheduled for March 18.
