Eight escape death as three trucks collide on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway

On Thursday, a multiple-vehicle collision on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway around Sinoma outbound Lagos axis in Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State left eight occupants of three trucks unharmed. The accident occurred at around 3:30 pm and involved eight male occupants, none of whom sustained injuries or fatalities. The incident was reported by the Mowe-Ibafo Divisional Command of the Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps.

According to the report, a white HOWO truck carrying wheat, a yellow DAF truck carrying Vaseline cream, and a white MAN truck carrying a gas tanker were involved. Preliminary findings suggested that the DAF truck hit the rear of the HOWO truck due to impatience, and the impact then affected the MAN truck. Despite the severity of the collision, all eight occupants escaped unscathed, as reported by the TRACE operatives who arrived at the scene around 6:13 pm.

The agency coordinated with Amotekun and the Police Motor Traffic Division, Sagamu, to manage the situation and facilitate the removal of the affected vehicles from the carriageway.
