Economia del mare, occupati a 1,1 milioni e previsti in crescita del 7,1%

In recent years, Italy's maritime economy has experienced significant growth, reaching a value added of over 79 billion euros in 2024. This growth has been driven by numerous government measures, according to Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. The sector employs over 1.1 million Italians and is expected to continue expanding, with a projected growth rate of 7.1% in 2025.

The "blue economy" now accounts for eight main industries, generating a multiplier effect of 1.8 and stimulating a total of 224.8 billion euros in the Italian economy. The president of the Council, Meloni, emphasized the need to build upon Italy's natural position as a Mediterranean platform and bridge between Europe, Africa, and the East.

Minister for Sea Policies, Nello Musumeci, highlighted the importance of collaboration and investment in new technologies to maintain Italy's competitiveness in the face of shifting geopolitical landscapes. Teha group's CEO, Valerio De Molli, stressed the need for strategic investment planning and the creation of conditions that allow Italy to anticipate future challenges, reinforcing its leadership through advances in ports, intermodalism, industry, maritime skills, underwater safety, and energy infrastructure.
