Dubai evening traffic: Where accidents and congestion are causing delays

Dubai's evening traffic on Thursday was plagued by congestion and accidents, leading to delays along major routes, especially for those traveling toward Sharjah, as reported by Google Maps. Heavy traffic was evident on Sheikh Zayed Road, Al Khail Road, and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, with construction work and accidents exacerbating the delays.

In Dubai Marina, Al Barsha, and Business Bay, stretching towards Defence Roundabout, congestion was severe. The situation worsened as motorists moved north from Garhoud towards Sahara Centre in Sharjah. Sheikh Rashid Road (D75) and D88 through Karama were also experiencing slow-moving traffic. Additional congestion was observed on Al Safa Street (D71) around City Walk and Dubai Mall, with vehicles moving in both directions at a snail's pace.

Al Khail Road (E44) faced long traffic stretches between Dubai Hills Estate and Meydan, with multiple accidents contributing to the delay. Around Ras Al Khor and the Dubai Production City exit, heading toward Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road (E311), motorists encountered heavy traffic. Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road itself saw sluggish traffic moving from Nad Al Sheba toward Muhaisnah, with moderate congestion around Arabian Ranches, Dubai Production City, and Dubai South.

Emirates Road (E611) was relatively smooth, aside from pockets of congestion around Remraam and Academic City, and heavier traffic near Al Awir. A standstill occurred around Tilal due to construction work at Al Badia Interchange. The Abu Dhabi Police urged against stopping in the road following a series of collisions, and the RTA, Dubai Police launched an awareness campaign for truck drivers.

The Sharjah Police emphasized proper parking around mosques during Taraweeh prayers. Lastly, the top seven winter driving mistakes were highlighted as contributing to most UAE road accidents.
