DTI, Ghana TVET Service partner to promote TVET education and youth employment

The Ghana TVET Service (GTVETS) and the Design & Technology Institute (DTI) have forged a strategic partnership to bolster technical and vocational education and training (TVET) in Ghana. The Memorandum of Understanding, signed in Accra on September 15, 2026, aims to enhance industry linkages and boost employment opportunities for the youth.

TVET plays a crucial role in developing a skilled workforce to support Ghana's economic transformation, according to Engr. Dr. Eric Kofi Adzroe, Director-General of GTVETS. The partnership will focus on improving TVET delivery, institutional capacity, and aligning skills training with labor market needs. DTI emphasizes the importance of a quality mindset and professional behavior for graduates to succeed in the workplace.

This partnership will assess TVET institutions to identify strengths and gaps, while also investing in trainer and institutional development, industry participation, and workplace experience learning. The collaboration will also strengthen trainer and assessor capacity, digital learning, management systems, and data-driven decision-making to create a more responsive and employment-oriented TVET system in Ghana.
