Dramatic video captures the moment 2 officers were wounded in a deadly Minneapolis shooting

Minneapolis police released dramatic video on Wednesday showing the moment two officers were shot after pursuing a shooter who had already killed two people and wounded three others in an apartment building. The shooter, Carlton Johnson, was killed by police during the incident. The video captures the officers rushing to the upper level in pursuit of Johnson after a custody handoff, where he killed a woman believed to be the mother of his child.

As the officers entered the hallway, Johnson emerged from behind a corner and fired at them, hitting Officer Joseph Michnowski before fleeing. Michnowski, visibly shaken, called for help, and other officers responded, leading to a chaotic exchange of gunfire. Johnson was ultimately killed by police after shooting and wounding two building employees and taking the elevator to the ninth floor, where he killed two more residents before his death.
