DheyaTech Bags ₹43 Cr To Scale Indigenous Gas Turbine Engines

Aerospace startup DheyaTech has secured ₹43 Cr ($5.1 Mn) in funding from Avaana Capital and investors Unimech Aerospace and Manufacturing. Based in Bengaluru, the company aims to use the capital to expand production, create a testing hub for its gas turbine engines, and collaborate with both Indian and overseas OEMs to speed up commercial deployments.

The firm plans to conduct flight trials of its engines in the fourth quarter of 2026. DheyaTech, established in 2018 by aerospace engineers Gurushankara KC, Abhinav Alva, and Chetan Kumar, designs indigenous small gas turbine engines for advanced aircraft and energy systems. Their engine range covers thrust outputs from 20 kgf to 400 kgf.

The startup boasts a fully in-house product development pipeline, handling design, development, assembly, and testing. DheyaTech also holds a proprietary adaptive engine control unit, which regulates engine operation. The company claims to be the first Indian private entity to independently certify its gas turbine engines under the supervision of DRDO's Centre for Military Airworthiness and Certification (CEMILAC).

DheyaTech is expanding into hydrogen-based technologies and distributed power-generation systems. They have teamed up with the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bengaluru to develop a hydrogen-based flexi-fuel combustor for a 60-kW turbogenerator. In the recent funding round, DheyaTech joins a growing trend of Indian aerospace and spacetech startups seeking capital for indigenous hardware and propulsion innovations.

In January, D-Propulse raised ₹25 Cr from IAN Alpha Fund for rotating detonation engine technology, while spacetech firm InspeCity secured ₹100 Cr in August to fund four orbital missions and advance satellite-servicing and propulsion technologies. Across the first half of 2026, advanced hardware and technology startups, including aerospace, defence, semiconductor, and robotics firms, collectively raised $365 Mn in 66 deals.
