Crow-Armstrong homers twice, Imanaga shines as Cubs beat Braves 8-4

On Wednesday night, the Chicago Cubs secured an 8-4 victory over the Atlanta Braves at Wrigley Field. Left-handed pitcher Shota Imanaga played a crucial role in the win, allowing a run in just six innings of pitching. However, his performance was overshadowed by Pete-Crow Armstrong's stellar display at the plate. Armstrong became the first left-handed pitcher in the Cubs' history to hit for the cycle, driving in both of his two home runs and scoring a crucial run in the fifth inning.

He also broke Billy Williams' franchise record for left-handers, hitting his 43rd and 44th home runs of the season. This remarkable performance helped the Cubs stay a half-game ahead of the Phillies for the first NL wild card. Alex Bregman led the charge with a stellar game, going 3 for 4 with a home run, triple, double, and four RBIs.

The Braves' J.R. Ritchie, who started the game, allowed six runs on seven hits in 4 2/3 innings. Despite the Braves' potential for clinching a playoff spot with a win, it was the Cubs who emerged victorious on this memorable night.
