Councillors’ Corner#8| ActionSA’s Singh briefs on Newcastle’s Ward 25
Newcastle Ward 25 Councillor is featured in this week’s edition Councillors’ Corner.
Councillors' Corner #8 brings you an update from ActionSA's Ward 25 Councillor in KwaZulu-Natal's Newcastle Local Municipality, Shailendra Singh. In this edition of Councillors' Corner, Digital News producer Lebo Tshangela speaks with Singh about the challenges his ward faces. The ward, which encompasses Newcastle Central, Fairleigh, and Siyahlala, is experiencing rapid urban growth, crumbling infrastructure, and slow housing improvements.
Singh highlights the infrastructure issues as the primary concern, with potholes and sewage collapses being major problems. The main obstacle they face, however, is the lack of funding to address these issues.
