Chiefs’ Moloisane – ‘We are not panicking’

Kaizer Chiefs defender Thabo Moloisane has expressed confidence in his team's ability to cope with the absence of injured goalkeeper Brandon Petersen. The South African club announced recently that Petersen will be sidelined for four to six weeks due to a knee injury sustained during training. Although recognized for his exceptional skills last season, Petersen has faced difficulties this campaign.

To replace him, Chiefs have two options: Renaldo Leaner, who was signed this season, and Bruce Bvuma. Moloisane stated, "We have capable guys in the goalkeeping department. Bruce is there, Renaldo is there. The goal is to make sure the team wins and make sure we support each other." He further added, "First, well wishes to Beeza (Petersen), we are not panicking."

Moloisane acknowledged a recent setback against Arrows earlier in the season, where the team lost 1-0 at FNB Stadium in the MTN8 quarterfinals. He emphasized that they should not have lost that game, as it only featured few chances and minor mistakes. Aware of Arrows' penchant for counter-attacks, Chiefs are preparing thoroughly for the upcoming match.

Having already struggled with three consecutive league defeats, the team recognizes the importance of securing a win against Arrows to enter the international break on a high. Moloisane emphasized, "It is going to be extremely important to get the three points. We have got two draws in games we should have won. Especially going into the Fifa break (we need to) take a bit of pressure off our shoulders, knowing we are keeping pace with the teams at the top."
