Chelsea's Joao Pedro out of Brazil's friendlies against Australia, India with injury

Joao Pedro has been removed from the Brazil national football team due to an injury, according to the Brazilian soccer federation. He was set to be replaced by Martinelli, who currently plays for Fluminense. Joao Pedro had been included in the squad for the upcoming friendly matches against Australia and India, following a surprise absence from Carlo Ancelotti's World Cup roster.

The injury has not been disclosed, but he played the complete game and scored in a 2-2 draw with Hull last weekend. His impressive performances for Chelsea this season, including scoring three goals in six games and being named Premier League player of the month for August, were well-received. Joao Pedro was initially overlooked for the World Cup, despite his stellar form, as Brazil's national team opted to select Neymar, who made only two substitute appearances.
