FX's anthology TV series, Far Cry, is expanding its cast as it nears production. The show, based on the popular video game franchise by Ubisoft, has already announced Oscar nominees Jennifer Jason Leigh and Brendan Gleeson as new additions to the ensemble. Other actors joining the cast include Hamish Linklater, Sam Spruell, and Jamie Demetriou.
The show's showrunners are Noah Hawley and Rob Mac. Previous announced cast members are Mac, Lizzy Caplan, and Steve Buscemi. Far Cry will air on FX and Hulu, with each season presenting a unique story, setting, and cast. The show has not yet been assigned a release date. Ubisoft's gaming division has been relatively inactive, with the last game, Far Cry 6, receiving positive reviews from critics.
Recently, Ubisoft's TV projects have shown promise, with Netflix's animated series Splinter Cell Deathwatch being well-received by the reviewer.
