Zhang Yiming, the founder of the TikTok parent company ByteDance, has become the richest person in Asia, with a net worth of $104.8 billion, according to Bloomberg. This is just $92 billion more than he had in 2019, largely due to AI. The Chinese billionaire's fortune surged by $12 billion in a single month following new valuations from BlackRock and Fidelity.

Zhang, who owns around 21% of his company, is now nearly eight times wealthier than he was in 2019. AI has been a significant driver of his wealth, as ByteDance leverages data from its social media apps to train its AI models. Analyst Lian Jye Su believes Zhang "plays his cards right" and continues to double down on AI investment.

This trend of AI reshaping the billionaire ranks is evident, with other tech founders like Michael Dell and Larry Page also experiencing rapid wealth growth due to AI.
