B.C. adopts Pacific time, PCT, for new, year-round daylight time zone

British Columbia has adopted a new time-zone code, Pacific time (PCT), to align with its ongoing decision to observe year-round daylight time. The Ministry of Citizens’ Services announced this change, which replaces the previous use of Pacific standard time and Pacific daylight time, depending on the season. The province announced its plan to remain on daylight time in March, with clocks remaining the same throughout the year.

This move aims to ensure consistency and reduce disruptions to sleep patterns and daily routines. Yukon adopted the same change six years ago, Alberta followed suit this year, and Manitoba Premier Wab Kinew announced that the province would also remain on year-round daylight time.
