Arman Tsarukyan unimpressed by Mauricio Ruffy’s star-studded training camp: ‘I’m better everywhere’

Arman Tsarukyan remains unfazed by Mauricio Ruffy's star-studded training camp ahead of their upcoming UFC 331 co-main event. The five-round bout in Los Angeles could serve as a title eliminator, as Ruffy has enlisted the help of UFC champion Alexander Volkanovski and former champion Israel Adesanya. However, Tsarukyan dismisses the idea that their respective trainings will hold significant weight once they step into the cage.

"You cannot compare Adesanya with me, and you cannot compare Volkanovski with me," he states emphatically. "They're completely different fighters." While acknowledging Ruffy's prowess, Tsarukyan maintains that his own striking and wrestling skills are superior. He also expects Ruffy's striking to pose a significant challenge early in the fight, but believes the second round will be a more favorable time to fight.

Currently on a five-fight winning streak, Tsarukyan seems poised to challenge for the lightweight title, though former champion Ilia Topuria is lobbying for a rematch with Justin Gaethje. Despite this, Tsarukyan dismisses Topuria's concerns, stating that they are merely excuses. He firmly believes that winning against Ruffy will secure him a fight with Gaethje.

UFC 331 will take place this Saturday at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, featuring a flyweight title bout between Joshua Van and Alexandre Pantoja.
