Alleged Cocaine Trafficking: Court upholds 30-day extension of KC Luxury’s detention

On September 17, 2026, the Kwabenya Circuit Court in Accra denied bail to six individuals accused of involvement in a suspected 3.9-tonne cocaine shipment exported from Ghana to France. The court heard the case involving four 40-foot containers that were intercepted in France. The six accused are Francis Narh Amanor, Frank Adu-Boahen, Togbe Agbeti, Andrews Tetteh Amponsah, Daniel Laryea, and Helena Akua Denkyi.

The court has adjourned the case to September 24, 2026, for further investigation. Four of the accused, who are linked to the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), face additional charges related to the Customs scanning process at Tema Port. Prosecutors allege that four containers, identified as SELU4549480, FFAU2242304, MSDU5642699, and SELU4809801, were scanned but cleared for export despite showing abnormalities.

Frank Adu-Boahen is accused of providing his login credentials to others to conduct the scan-image analysis. He is also claimed to be the owner of the containers, with his telephone number linked to the freight forwarder, F&F Logistics. Amanor, the Managing Director of Fresna Commodities Ltd, told investigators that the containers contained pet flakes or plastic scraps and had engaged Adu-Boahen for services.

The prosecution alleges that Amanor and Adu-Boahen exported the containers containing approximately 3.9 tonnes of suspected narcotic substances.
