2027: Daniel, Amosun missing as Abiodun inaugurates Ogun APC campaign council, warns against sabotage

In Ogun State, Governor Dapo Abiodun recently inaugurated the APC State Campaign Council for the 2027 general elections, without the presence of former governors Gbenga Daniel and Ibikunle Amosun. The newly formed council is responsible for conducting campaign activities across the state's 20 local government areas, 236 wards, and polling units.

Abiodun, who presides over the council, emphasized the importance of deliberate and scientific planning over mere political reputation or crowd size for electoral victories. He directed the council members to secure support for all APC candidates, including the president, governorship candidate, and legislative contenders. Abiodun cautioned against factionalism and internal sabotage, stressing that the appointments into the council are tools for service and responsibility.

The governor urged the campaign team to highlight the administration's key projects, such as the Gateway International Airport and infrastructure, agriculture, and healthcare initiatives. A call for civil and issue-based campaigning was made, warning that political victory would be meaningless if attained through violence or intimidation.

Following the inauguration, the APC governorship candidate, Senator Olamilekan Adeola, assured those not included in the council that they remain crucial to the party's ward-level mobilization, stating that campaign operations would commence under the leadership of Director-General Senator Lekan Mustapha.
