Yuvraj Singh warns India before World Cup year: ‘Don’t make massive changes’

India are preparing for their 2026-27 home season, starting with three ODIs against the West Indies on September 27 as they aim for the 2027 World Cup in Africa. Rumors surround the positions of batting legends Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, with former all-rounder Yuvraj Singh cautioning against drastic changes in the squad over the next 13 months.

Speaking to Cricinfo, Yuvraj emphasized the importance of having a consistent team to play in a year's time, stating that making big changes at the last moment is detrimental. He pointed out how India has struggled whenever significant alterations were made before World Cup events. Yuvraj highlighted the team's success in recent white-ball tournaments, including the T20 World Cups in 2024 and 2026, the Champions Trophy last year, and finishing as runners-up at the 2023 World Cup.

He urged the team to focus on building a cohesive unit capable of competing in any situation, a critical factor in qualifying for the semifinals and beyond.
