Veteran Nigeria actor Olu Jacobs dies at 84

Veteran Nigerian actor and film executive Olu Jacobs has passed away at the age of 84, his son announced on Instagram. Known as "The Lion of Lufodo," Jacobs was one of the country's most prominent figures in theatre, television, and film. After training at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London, he began his career in British television and later starred in numerous international productions before returning to Nigeria.

Jacobs became a major figure in the country's film industry, starring in numerous Nigerian films and earning several industry awards, including the Industry Merit Award and a Lifetime Achievement Award. Jacobs was also involved in the film industry as an executive, working alongside his wife, veteran actress Joke Silva, in the Lufodo Group and the development of performing arts in Nigeria.
