Ukraine to Add 12-Year Prison Term for Scam Call Centers
Parliament voted on Wednesday to add a new article to Ukraine’s Criminal Code to prosecute those involved in operating scam call centers, with a maximum prison term of 12 years. The decision came after an anti-corruption raid uncovered an alleged protection scheme operated by officials in the Prosecutor General’s Office and eventually led to the prosecutor general’s own ouster.
