Trump-aligned groups are pouring money into the midterm races

Des Moines, Iowa (AP) — Wealthy entities linked to former President Donald Trump are flooding political races in the final stretch before the midterm elections with substantial financial contributions. According to AdImpact, which monitors ad purchases and media expenditures, these groups have already allocated more than $130 million towards advertising.

The significant outlay demonstrates President Trump's commitment to backing Republican candidates, but the influence of this spending remains uncertain due to rising advertising costs. Among the major contributors is the Safety and Affordability PAC, a new organization affiliated with MAGA Inc., President Trump's primary political committee.

A person familiar with the group, who spoke on condition of anonymity, confirmed the affiliation. No Going Back, another Trump-aligned entity, has spent the most, reserving over $98.5 million in advertising. The organization is also connected to MAGA Inc., which had over $400 million in its account as of July. MAGA Inc. has also allocated $11 million to its own initiatives this cycle.

The Safety and Affordability PAC and No Going Back both have the same treasurer listed on their filings, along with MAGA Inc. Both PACs were established on September 1, and their financial disclosures attribute the same treasurer to these groups. The spending comes amid a challenging political climate for Republicans, with President Trump's approval ratings below water as voters struggle with rising prices, particularly for fuel, during the ongoing conflict in Iran.
