Toronto, GTA gas prices set to jump Thursday, diesel rising sharply by 11 cents

Gas prices in the Toronto and Greater Toronto Area (GTA) are expected to increase again on Thursday, climbing by six cents to 189.9 cents per litre at most fuel stations. This follows a month of fluctuating fuel costs in the region, according to Roger McKnight, chief petroleum analyst at En‑Pro International. The latest forecast indicates that regular gasoline will hit its highest level in weeks, propelled by market pressures such as refinery output, seasonal demand, and global crude oil price swings.

For diesel users, the rise is even more significant, with diesel prices set to jump by 11 cents, bringing the GTA price to 264.9 cents per litre. This jump follows a series of fuel price swings in recent weeks, including consecutive increases following short-term price dips. In September, gas prices in the GTA ranged from 187.9 cents per litre on September 10th, down to 179.9 cents on September 11th, then rose by seven cents to 186.9 cents on September 12th.
