‘The Traitors’ Snags 3-Season Renewal at Peacock After Emmys Domination

The competition series "The Traitors" has been extended for an additional three seasons, receiving Emmy wins in the 2026 awards. The streaming platform Peacock confirmed this renewal ahead of the upcoming Season 5 premiere in 2027. Alan Cumming, the show's host, is also set to return, having secured his third consecutive Emmy win in the category.

Season 4 of "The Traitors" claimed seven awards this year, including production design, cinematography, costumes, directing, picture editing, and the Outstanding Reality Competition Program. This achievement marked the show's most successful year to date in the genre, with Season 4 garnering a record 8.1 billion minutes viewed, making it the second most-watched streaming original reality series of 2026, trailing behind "Love Island USA" on Peacock.

The show, set in an ancient castle in the Scottish Highlands, pits players into a game of murder mystery, where treachery and deceit are key. The Faithful work together to build a prize fund while the Traitors aim to eliminate them and claim the prize for themselves. The series, based on the Dutch original "De Verraders," premiered in January 2023, and all four seasons are currently available on Peacock, with Season 5 set to debut early 2027.
