‘Stop Talking, Go And Work’, Tinubu Campaign Spokesperson Tells Wike, APC Govs

Ima Niboro, a spokesperson for the APC Presidential Campaign Council, has issued a stern warning to those engaged in verbal sparring over President Bola Tinubu's 2027 election campaign. Niboro urged them to cease trading words and instead demonstrate their strength on the ground. This came amid a heated debate between FCT Minister Nyesom Wike and APC governors over the proposed Rainbow Coalition for Tinubu's re-election.

The controversy stems from the political crisis preceding the 2023 presidential election, in which Wike and four other PDP governors formed the G5 group, refusing to back Atiku Abubakar. Despite becoming a minister in Tinubu's administration, Wike has maintained his PDP membership and now advocates for a coalition of politicians from different parties for the presidential contest.

However, APC governors have resisted this proposal, arguing that their political machinery should remain focused on the party and its candidates. The disagreement intensified when Wike called the APC governors "politically lazy" for rejecting the coalition, leading Wike to question Uzodimma's support for Tinubu during the 2023 election.

Niboro, however, encouraged political leaders to focus on grassroots mobilisation rather than engaging in public arguments. He stated, "Stop all this high-sounding grammar that they are blowing everywhere is not leading anybody anywhere. Go and work."
