As the 2026 Alabama high school football season enters its fourth week, the Alabama Sports Writers Association has released its latest rankings. The top contenders are beginning to emerge across the state, with several teams facing crucial region matchups. Here are the current rankings for each classification in the AHSAA and AISA:

Class 6A: Thompson (20) remains undefeated at 4-0, leading the pack with 240 points. Central-Phenix City (3-1) follows with 173 points, while Prattville, Vestavia Hills, Hewitt-Trussville, Auburn, Spain Park, Daphne, Hoover, and Opelika round out the top ten.

Class 5A: Clay-Chalkville (19) is at the top with a 3-1 record and 228 points. Parker (3-1) and Saraland (2-1) are close behind with 154 and 137 points, respectively. Benjamin Russell (2-1) and Oxford (4-0) complete the top five.

Class 4A: Williamson (19) leads the way with a perfect 3-0 record and 237 points. Alexandria (1) and Vigor (3-1) are next with 167 and 147 points, while Scottsboro (4-0) and Northside (4-0) round out the top four.

Class 3A: Plainview (19) is atop the Class 3A rankings at 4-0 and 237 points. Geraldine (1) and Handley (2-0) follow with 179 and 155 points, while Oneonta (4-0) and T.R. Miller (2-1) complete the top five.

Class 2A: Fyffe (18) is currently number one with a perfect 4-0 record and 229 points. Luverne (2) and Reeltown (4-0) are close behind with 180 and 156 points, respectively. Piedmont (4-0), Pleasant Valley (4-0), Cottonwood (4-0), Collinsville (3-0), and Bullock County (3-0) round out the top ten.

Class 1A: Maplesville (19) leads the Class 1A rankings with a 3-0 record and 237 points. Addison (4-0) and Winterboro (4-0) are next with 176 and 156 points, while Hubbertville (3-1), Red Bay (4-0), Loachapoka (2-1), Linden (4-0), McKenzie (2-1), Wadley (2-2), Elba (3-1), and the AISA teams complete the rankings.
