Scrubs Cast Spills On Season 2: J.D.'s New Love (And Mentee), Turk And Carla's 'Chore Play,' And Elliot's Reunion With Sean

When ABC's Scrubs revival began earlier this year, J.D.'s creator Zach Braff knew there was value in learning from the first season. Not only was it a way to understand what fans enjoyed and responded to, but it also provided an opportunity to see where room for improvement existed. As executive producer and director, Braff had an inside perspective on how the show could evolve.

One of the most significant changes in Season 2 is J.D.'s newfound romance with Charlie, played by Rachel Bilson. Braff admits that he is love-struck himself, and Turk, J.D.'s roommate and friend, warns him not to rush into things. J.D.'s tendency to dive headfirst into relationships remains a defining trait of his character.

Elliot, on the other hand, is grappling with her breakup with Sean, played by Scott Foley. Initially, she sees her low-key relationship with him as a positive, but her ex-husband J.D.'s new romance with Charlie makes her question her own feelings. Elliot's newfound confidence, however, is evident in her career, particularly with her mentorship of young doctor Tosh.

The return of Sean to Elliot's life also brings out her neuroses and causes her to become uncomfortable and clumsy. Meanwhile, Elliot's mentorship of Tosh has become more significant as Tosh considers her own career path and decides which aspects of Elliot's example she wants to emulate.
