Sanitas paga casi 4 millones a su ex CEO Iñaki Peralta

Sanitas has paid nearly 4 million euros to its former CEO, Iñaki Peralta. Peralta served as the company's CEO from Sanitas and Bupa Europe & Latinamerica until December 31, 2025, when he left the company. Following his departure, an exit agreement was formalized, which includes a pending payment of around 4 million euros. Additional payments, not clearly specified in the accounts, also form part of Peralta's compensation.

The exit agreement includes certain rights regarding annual and multi-year remuneration plans, contingent upon the achievement of business objectives, as per the agreement between the parties, the report indicates. Peralta left Sanitas on September 18, 2025, and his exit became effective on January 1, 2026. He also left the leadership positions at Bupa Europe & Latinamerica.

He held these executive roles between 2021 and 2025. Prior to that, he served as the general director of Sanitas Seguros, the general director of Sanitas Hospitals, and held various positions at Sanitas Mayores. Carlos Jaureguizar replaced Peralta as the top executive in both Sanitas and Bupa Europe & Latinamerica. Between Sanitas' announcement of his departure in September and his effective retirement in December, Santander hired Peralta as CEO of its insurance business in Spain and as its global health insurance responsibility, replacing Francismo Giménez Bosch.

Sanitas is the second-largest specialized health insurer in the ranking by premiums, with a 16% market share in the life sector. The Bupa subsidiary is the most profitable insurer in Spain, with a 47.6% return on owner's equity in 2025, according to Afi consultancy data. Sanitas Seguros earned 179 million euros last year, slightly above 177 million in 2024.

The group's reported profit for 2025, including other non-insurance businesses, was 220 million euros.
