Salesforce has built the TSA a new AI agent to make travelling less awful for everyone

Salesforce has unveiled Ace, an AI agent for the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) aimed at easing the travel experience for passengers. Ace is designed to alleviate the workload of human agents by handling basic inquiries. In its early days, Ace has already processed around 100,000 routine traveler conversations per month, resolving 96% of these inquiries without requiring human intervention.

These inquiries typically revolve around packing liquids and navigating checkpoints with medical devices. Kendall Collins, CEO of Missionforce and Government Cloud, expressed enthusiasm, stating that Ace enables travelers to receive quick and accurate responses to simple questions, ensuring a smoother journey before reaching the checkpoint.

The deployment of Ace is part of a larger initiative by the TSA to enhance traveler service through Salesforce. The TSA's Customer Experience Branch launched this modernization effort to better manage the surge in traveler inquiries, especially during peak travel periods, by providing a scalable and consistent support system. This approach not only aims to reduce the burden on TSA contact center teams but also supports the TSA's mission effectively even during the busiest travel times.

Paul Tatum, EVP of Global Public Sector Solutions at Salesforce, emphasized the TSA's commitment to leveraging trusted AI to ensure mission success, offering a secure, data-driven, and AI-first platform that scales operations, reduces costs, and safeguards public trust.
