Ravindra Jadeja returns to ODI squad, Dhruv Jurel pips Rishabh Pant; Rohit Sharma stays

The Indian cricket team has announced their squads for the upcoming T20I and ODI series against the West Indies. Ajit Agarkar chaired the men's senior selection committee, which made a significant decision by calling up players for the first time - Auqib Nabi and Naman Dhir, alongside recalling Ravindra Jadeja to the ODI squad. Mohammed Siraj will lead the fast bowling department, which also includes Prasidh Krishna and Gurnoor Brar.

Rohit Sharma remains in the team, having scored well in the third ODI against England. Yashasvi Jaiswal has been picked as the reserve opener, while Ruturaj Gaikwad is set to take the No.4 position left by Shreyas Iyer, who will captain the T20I side in Japan. Nitish Kumar Reddy, who has been withdrawn from the Asian Games squad, will replace him in the ODIs against the West Indies.

Dhruv Jurel has outshone Rishabh Pant for the second wicketkeeper spot, potentially making Pant's return to the limited-overs set-up challenging. The T20I side for the upcoming matches against the West Indies includes a return for Prince Yadav and Mayank Yadav, with Yash Thakur being overlooked. Axar Patel is retained as the left-arm spinner alongside Ravi Bishnoi and Washington Sundar.

In the ODI team, Shubman Gill is the captain, followed by Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Ruturaj Gaikwad, KL Rahul (vice-captain), Dhruv Jurel, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, Prasidh Krishna, Gurnoor Brar, Mohammed Siraj, Auqib Nabi, and Yashasvi Jaiswal.
