Police refute KP CM's claim of 'murder' conspiracy in Wazirabad, say constable was on security duty

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi claimed on Wednesday that a man allegedly sent to kill him was apprehended by his security team. However, Gujranwala Police and Wazirabad City police refuted the claim, stating that the detained man was Constable Muqadas Ali, who was on security duty for Afridi. Afridi alleged hurdles were created during his stay in Sialkot, with power supplies cut off and generators ruined at two residences he visited.

He subsequently traveled to Wazirabad, where he claimed that his security team apprehended the armed individual and handed him over to the local SHO. The KP CM also complained about the electricity being cut off in Wazirabad, preventing him from moving elsewhere. Both Gujranwala and Wazirabad police said the constable was physically assaulted by members of Afridi's protection team, with footage and images from the scene clearly showing the SHO's presence.

The police emphasized that portraying the constable as a "killer" was a matter of serious concern and condemned the misrepresentation of facts.
