PM Anwar: Malaysia supports and appreciates Saudi Arabia’s efforts following drone interception in Mecca

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 16 — Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has voiced support for Saudi Arabia in the aftermath of a drone being intercepted near the holiest city in Islam, Mecca. Anwar emphasized that any endeavor aimed at endangering the security and sanctity of this sacred location is utterly intolerable. He expressed the country's appreciation for the prompt measures undertaken to ensure the well-being of residents and pilgrims in Mecca.

In a Facebook post, Anwar highlighted the significance of refraining from actions that could further escalate regional tensions, urging an immediate cessation of attacks on civilian areas and any activities that pose a threat to the security and sanctity of holy sites. He stressed the necessity for all parties involved to pursue peace through dialogue, aiming to de-escalate tensions and reach a resolution without undue delay.
