Pipedrive launches Nova AI assistant to reduce CRM admin work and keep data current

Pipedrive, a CRM platform for small and medium-sized businesses, has unveiled Nova, an AI assistant aimed at streamlining administrative tasks for sales teams. Nova assists users by providing context before calls, including deal history, emails, and past conversations. During meetings, Nova records and summarizes conversations, generating transcripts, suggesting follow-ups, and proposing CRM updates such as deal stages, values, and expected close dates.

Sales representatives can review, edit, and approve any changes before they are implemented. Pipedrive's Chief Product and Technology Officer, Joe Futty, believes that Nova empowers salespeople by reducing the need for manual data entry, allowing them to focus on their core task of selling. According to Pipedrive's "The Hidden Cost of Selling" report, 71% of professionals spend over 10 minutes preparing for each customer call, and 47% invest up to a day in follow-ups or updates.

Salespeople desire control over AI-generated work, as only 23% feel comfortable with AI-completed tasks without human review. Snug Technology, an Australian real estate tech company, tested Nova in a pilot phase and reported that it saves salespeople up to half an hour to an hour per deal meeting by automating note-taking, transcribing, and follow-up tasks.

Nova is accessible as a desktop app for recording or as a notetaker for meetings in Google Meet, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams. IT teams maintain control over user access, consent, and notification settings to ensure privacy.
