Nasarawa: Police present N30.8m insurance benefits to families of deceased officers

The Nasarawa State Police Command recently presented a total of N30,845,424.03 in Group Life Assurance and Group Personal Accident cheques to the families of deceased police officers. This occurred on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, during a ceremony held at the command's headquarters. The announcement was made by the Commissioner of Police, CP Shetima Jauro Mohammed, in a statement released by Police Public Relations Officer, SP Ramhan Nanselon.

The financial assistance aims to offer relief and support to the families of officers who lost their lives while serving their country. CP Shetima Jauro Mohammed praised the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, for his ongoing dedication to the welfare of police officers and their loved ones. He highlighted that the disbursement underscored the Nigeria Police Force's commitment to helping families of officers who made the ultimate sacrifice.

The Commissioner encouraged the beneficiaries to handle the funds responsibly and, when possible, invest them in long-term ventures that could generate income and improve their families' circumstances. He emphasized that the money could significantly enhance their families' economic security and provide better opportunities for their children.

Mrs Edith Jacob, speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, expressed gratitude to IGP Disu and the Nasarawa State Commissioner of Police for this intervention. She described the payment as a substantial form of support to the affected families and pledged that the beneficiaries would manage the funds responsibly.
