The three AW109 Trekker B helicopters, part of a larger ten-unit purchase by the federal government, touched down in Lagos on September 15, 2026.
The remaining seven helicopters are slated for delivery by the close of 2026, while the two H125 helicopters have already been received.
Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, hailed this acquisition as a "significant milestone" in the federal government's persistent investment in the modernization and re-equipping of the NAF. He emphasized that these new platforms will enhance asset availability and bolster the Service's responsiveness across various operational theaters.
