MoEHE launches ‘Hisn 2’ to promote students’ mental, social wellbeing

Doha, Qatar - The Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE) has announced the initiation of the second phase of its 'Hisn' preventive project in government schools and kindergartens for the 2026-2027 academic year. This initiative aims to promote students' mental and social wellbeing and foster safe, supportive learning environments.

The project's launch forum, organized by the Student Protection and Care Section of the School and Student Affairs Department, drew over 400 psychological and social specialists from government schools, kindergartens, and specialized schools for students with disabilities. Assistant Director Fatima Al Obaidli highlighted that 'Hisn 2' builds upon the mission of establishing a culture of prevention and encouraging positive behaviors.

Dr. Ahmed Al Hadidi, a psychological consultant at the Student Protection and Care Section, presented the statistical analysis of the first 'Hisn' project, which reached 145 schools and 30,904 students during the 2025-2026 academic year. The initiative involved 16,610 parents and established community partnerships in 130 schools, with 98.6% of the approved preventive program plan successfully implemented.

'Hisn 2' comprises three main programs: 'Protection and Safety', targeting primary and model-stage students in boys' and girls' schools; 'Irada' (willpower), aimed at preparatory and secondary students in boys' and girls' schools; and 'Safe Steps', designed for students in specialized schools for people with disabilities.
