MoCI expands digital services to boost Qatar’s business environment

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) in Qatar has recently expanded its digital services, aiming to create a more efficient and competitive business environment. These initiatives focus on improving the investor journey, streamlining business creation and operations, and enhancing the overall experience for users.

One such initiative is the E-Commerce Licence, issued under Decision No. (25) of 2026 by the Minister of Commerce and Industry, HE Sheikh Faisal bin Thani bin Faisal Al Thani. This licence allows businesses to establish and operate online entirely through a single website in Qatar. The licence covers 194 approved business activities, with an issuance fee of QR500. Applications can be submitted electronically, making the process simpler for entrepreneurs and digital business owners.

Additionally, MoCI has updated its official website with a modern interface and organized digital experience. The new design offers easy access to information and services, efficient navigation, and a smoother user experience. This development showcases the ministry's commitment to leveraging technology to improve digital services and provide a better user experience for the business community, investors, and consumers.

Another key update is the enhanced Qatar Business Map, which provides research and analysis tools for investors and entrepreneurs. These tools help explore commercial activities and establishments, access market data, understand activity distribution across the country, and identify suitable locations for establishing projects. The updates also include enhancements to the MoCI app, adding new services to facilitate digital transaction completion, such as the certificate service and comprehensive renewal service.

These digital advancements build upon a series of initiatives launched by MoCI in 2026 to improve the investor journey and strengthen transparency in Qatar's business environment. These include the company regulatory report, the Business Guidance and Establishment Office, integration of banking services through the Single Window Platform, update of the Commercial Activities System, and the launch of the AI Agents Factory in collaboration with Microsoft.

Together, these initiatives support the various stages of the investor journey, from market exploration and business establishment to completing procedures and services, business management, and accessing digital services. This comprehensive approach aims to simplify procedures, reduce time and effort required, and improve the overall efficiency of Qatar's business environment.
