Minister of Public Health, QBA discuss boosting partnership between MoPH and private sector

In Doha, Qatar, the Minister of Public Health, H.E. Mansoor bin Ebrahim Al Mahmoud, convened a meeting with representatives from the Qatari Businessmen Association (QBA) to bolster collaboration between the Ministry of Public Health and the private sector. Heads of the QBA, including Chairman H.E. Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al Thani, along with QBA members and officials from insurance, pharmaceutical companies, and private hospitals and medical centers, participated in the dialogue.

The discussions aimed at enhancing the partnership between the Ministry and the private sector, focusing on increasing their involvement in delivering high-quality healthcare services in Qatar. The meeting addressed the Ministry's vision and strategic plans for health sector development up to 2030, including priority health projects and updates on the health insurance system.

Officials discussed facilitating licensing processes for health facilities and practitioners, ensuring quality standards, and strengthening pharmaceutical security. They also explored ways to support cooperation with the private sector in pharmaceuticals and food establishments, ensuring food safety throughout the supply chain.

The meeting emphasized strengthening the public-private sector collaboration in health crisis management, addressing challenges faced by the private sector, and promoting health services while boosting medical tourism. Furthermore, it highlighted the development of capabilities in long-term specialties such as precision medicine, aligning with Qatar's Third National Development Strategy and Vision 2030.
