MFA spokesperson confirms preparations under way for Zelenskyy-Trump meeting

Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Heorhiy Tykhy has announced that Ukrainian and American officials are currently gearing up for a potential meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and U.S. President Donald Trump. Tykhy emphasized that both teams are focusing on making the meeting as meaningful as possible, covering a range of topics.

In addition to the presidential encounter, numerous other events are also on the agenda, including engagements with U.S. congressional officials, business leaders, and the Ukrainian community in the United States. Tykhy cautioned against underestimating the significance of these events. Zelenskyy had previously hinted at a potential meeting with Trump on September 21-23 in New York, expressing a desire to discuss maritime and energy truce matters.

Zelenskyy reiterated Ukraine's openness to pursuing such a truce if the meeting occurs, and stated his intention to engage in comprehensive discussions with the U.S. president, provided it aligns with his plans and he is able to travel to New York.
