Every Wildwood trailer has been a visual delight, and the final glimpse is equally impressive. The highly-anticipated stop-motion fantasy, helmed by award-winning studio LAIKA, draws inspiration from the novel of the same name by renowned musician Colin Meloy. Wildwood transports viewers to the enchanting realm of Portland, Oregon, where a parallel world exists just beyond its borders, known as the Impassable Wilderness.
At the heart of this mystical land is Alexandra, portrayed by Carey Mulligan, a powerful figure residing in the enchanted forest. The wilderness is inhabited by talking animals, roving bandits, and Alexandra herself, whose power is both formidable and mysterious. When a magical murder of crows carries off baby Mac (Peyton Elizabeth Lee) to the Impassable Wilderness, his older sister Prue McKeel (Peyton Elizabeth Lee) sets out on a quest to rescue him.
Joined by her classmate Curtis Mehlberg (Jacob Tremblay), Prue ventures into a realm filled with ancient magic and uncovers an epic adventure. The trailer showcases the studio's unparalleled craftsmanship, ranging from breathtaking battles to a captivating chase sequence involving a golden eagle named the General, brought to life with Viola Davis. Voice talents include an impressive array of actors like Richard E. Grant, Awkwafina, Amandla Stenberg, Tom Waits, Charlie Day, and Mahershala Ali, among others.
Wildwood is set to captivate audiences in theaters on October 23.
