King Salman Royal Reserve leads efforts to restore wildlife

The King Salman Royal Reserve Development Authority has reported notable advancements in their efforts to restore wildlife and biodiversity within the reserve. In a recent update, they disclosed that 1,646 wild animals have been successfully reintroduced as of December 2023. This accomplishment underscores the authority's dedication to restoring ecological balance and revitalizing Saudi Arabia's natural heritage, in alignment with the objectives of Vision 2030.

Among the reintroduced species are notable and rare animals such as the Reem gazelle, mountain ibex, Arabian oryx, houbara bustard, and Arabian gazelle. These rewilding initiatives form part of the reserve's broader strategic plans, which aim to create a secure and sustainable habitat, promote the breeding of endangered species, and restore natural habitats in the largest nature reserve in the region.
