Kano gov appoints acting chairperson of anti-graft agency

Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf has appointed Hafsat Kutama as the Acting Chairperson of the state's Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC). The appointment was announced by Ibrahim Adam, the Governor's Special Adviser on Social Media, on his official social media account on Wednesday. According to Adam, "His Excellency, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, has appointed Barr. Hafsat Ada’u Kutama, as the Acting Chairperson of the Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC), Kano State."

Before her appointment, Kutama had been serving as the Secretary of the PCACC. The position of Chairman at the anti-graft agency was vacated by Saidu Yahaya, who resigned on Tuesday, September 15, 2026. Yahaya had been appointed Chairman of the PCACC in August 2025, succeeding Muhuyi Rimin Gado, whose tenure had expired.
