Jack & Jill raises $40M to change the face of job hunting with AI agents

Jack & Jill, a hiring platform leveraging conversational generative AI, has raised $40 million in early funding to revolutionize the job market. The Series A round was led by Air Street Capital, with participation from Madrona, Creandum, and Entrepreneurs First. This brings the company's total funding to $60 million, ten months after its seed round led by Creandum.

Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer Saaras Mehan explained that AI is creating job displacement and inundating the job market with automated applications, causing candidates to struggle for visibility while employers struggle to identify serious applicants. The issue, Mehan argued, isn't better filters; it's about utilizing a better solution: a marketplace brokered by AI agents.

Jack & Jill offers AI agents, Jack and Jill, that understand both job seekers and employers' needs. Jack serves as a career coach, engaging in voice calls with job seekers, with some candidates spending over 44 hours conversing with the agent. Jill, on the other hand, builds a comprehensive understanding of each company's hiring requirements by reading job descriptions and answering questions about desired outcomes.

The company aims to create a two-sided conversation, allowing AI agents to match candidates and employers based on detailed contextual information rather than keywords and job roles. The company has worked with 5,000 companies, facilitating over 25,000 interviews, and currently handles 5,000 interviews each month. By 2030, Jack & Jill predicts that a billion people will have AI agents searching for job opportunities on their behalf, connecting the right professionals with the right employers.
