'It's a miracle' - fireball crash victim Millroy praises rescuer Hartog

British racing driver Ollie Millroy credits his fellow driver Loek Hartog for saving his life after his Ferrari caught fire during the China GT Championship race at Shanghai International Circuit 11 days ago. Millroy, 36, was trapped in his burning car for over a minute before Hartog, a Dutchman, stopped his own car to help him.

Hartog acted quickly, using an extinguisher to prevent the flames from reaching Millroy, and carefully helped him out of the car. Millroy, who suffered several fractures, a punctured lung, and no memory of the crash, describes the rescuer's actions as a miracle, saying it's "as though it was meant to be." Both drivers plan to meet in person for the first time since the crash, with Millroy hoping to resume his racing career after getting closer to his family and processing the traumatic event.
