Indiza, Snow Lead Kenyan Charge as Sunshine Development Tour Heads to Uganda

The Sunshine Development Tour, East Africa Swing, is set to arrive in Uganda for its sixth leg at the Pearl of Africa Golf Series, scheduled from September 16 to 19 at the Entebbe Golf Club. The tournament will gather 87 golfers from various African nations, with Uganda hosting the largest group of 40 players. Kenya will send 14 golfers, while South Africa contributes 18 players. Nigeria, Zimbabwe, England, Malawi, Tanzania, and Eswatini each have a single player participating in the event.

Among the Kenyan contingent are experienced golfers such as Indiza, Snow, Daniel Nduva, David Wakhu, Mutahi Kibugu, Jastas Madoya, Erick Ooko Obura, and Jacob Okello. The Ugandan team boasts a formidable lineup led by Willy Deus Kitata, Ronald Rugumayo, Gaita Tadeo Rodell, and Abraham Ainamani. Rugumayo returned from strong performances in the 2026 Johnnie Walker Uganda Open and the MTN Pro Tees Championship, while Kitata aims to capitalize on home advantage at a course he represents.

The four-day championship promises a Ksh 2.3 million prize fund, valuable Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR) and World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) points. These points will aid professionals in solidifying their global rankings and offer amateurs a chance to enhance their international standing. Importantly, the event marks a significant milestone for Ugandan golf, as the Pearl of Africa Golf Series becomes the country's first tournament recognized for OWGR.

The Entebbe Golf Series will commence on Wednesday, September 16, and run until Saturday, September 19, solidifying the Sunshine Development Tour's role as a regional pathway for professional golfers. This gathering of players from diverse East African and African markets will provide regular opportunities for competition, prize money, ranking points, and progression on the professional circuit.
