Fuel dispensing nozzles in Karnataka have been found defective in 85.2% of fuel dispensing nozzles, causing consumer losses. In 101 out of 805 fuel stations checked, the dispensation error surpassed the allowed limit of 25 ml per five litres, affecting 2,618 nozzles across these stations. The chosen 805 stations were selected because their recalibration exercise had occurred less than a year earlier.

Despite low rainfall this year, the restored 14 hairpin bends of Agumbe Ghat have craters and potholes, making driving difficult. The ghat connects Udupi district to Shivamogga and Chikkamagaluru districts on the Western Ghats.
