HBO Max Gives 15-Episode Order to Greg Berlanti Family Drama ‘How to Survive Without Me’

HBO Max has ordered a 15-episode run of Greg Berlanti's family drama "How to Survive Without Me." The one-hour series, starring Ray Romano, Kaley Cuoco and Joshua Jackson, is helmed by Berlanti and Bash Doran, with Doran and Berlanti's husband Robbie Rogers serving as executive producers. The pilot order came after the success of "The Pitt," a medical drama that followed a similar format with modest budgets and annual releases.

"How to Survive Without Me" follows the De Angelis family and their matriarch Beverly (Rita Wilson) following her passing. The show explores how the family struggles to maintain connection and manage their complicated lives without Beverly's guidance. HBO Max's Sarah Aubrey praised the cast, calling it a "dream cast perfect for this emotional, extraordinary story."

Berlanti, who co-created the show with Doran and Rogers, expressed his gratitude for the production team and his family's experiences that have made the series deeply personal. Warner Bros. Television Group CEO Channing Dungey expressed excitement for the new series and its cast.
