Hayden Panettiere's representatives have warned of "conflicting information" surrounding the ongoing investigation into the actress' death. Earlier this week, reports surfaced that the investigation had become "cross-country," with officials looking into leads in both Los Angeles and South Carolina. TMZ reported that the investigation could involve a "long-time drug dealer."

In response, Panettiere's reps released a statement emphasizing the unverified nature of some reports. "Recent reports attributed to unnamed sources are unverified hearsay and have contributed to conflicting information that continues to circulate," the statement read. They urged the public to remain patient and allow the investigation to unfold, stating that the answers surrounding her passing will come.

This is not the first time Panettiere's reps have issued a statement during the investigation. Last month, they asked anyone with real information about her death to contact law enforcement, calling the public rumor mill "deeply disrespectful" to those grieving. The actress was found unresponsive by emergency services in Greenville, South Carolina, on August 16, with "no signs of foul play or suspicious circumstances," according to the Greenville County Coroner's Office. The Drug Enforcement Agency has since joined the probe into Panettiere's death.
