Government welcomes $1.3 billion Sentuo Airport City investment

President John Dramani Mahama recently laid the foundation stone for the $1.3 billion Sentuo Airport City Project, a large mixed-use development set to transform commercial, residential, hospitality and leisure infrastructure in Accra’s Airport City enclave. The groundbreaking ceremony occurred on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, signaling the start of a project that will feature 582 upscale apartments, a 600-room hotel, a 2,500-capacity conference center, healthcare facilities, a shopping mall, and landscaped gardens.

The ambitious development promises to drive economic growth through job creation and increased demand for locally produced goods and services across various sectors. Minister of Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, expressed gratitude for the investment and credited the developers for their confidence in Ghana's economy.

She hailed the project as a significant addition to the nation's expanding list of major private-sector investments, commending President Mahama for his support of initiatives aimed at accelerating Ghana's economic transformation and fostering employment opportunities for Ghanaians.

The Sentuo Airport Garden City Project is anticipated to bolster the development of the Airport City area and stimulate economic activity across construction, hospitality, retail, healthcare, and other related sectors.
