Gold Cards to carry seat numbers, no complimentary cards

Mysuru district Minister Yathindra Siddaramaiah announced on Wednesday that Gold Card holders for the Jamboo Savari procession will receive designated seats with seat numbers, excluding complimentary Gold Cards. A documentary proposal on the Mysuru Dasara celebrations for National Geographic was also discussed. The Dasara-2026 website (mysoredasara.gov.in) was launched, and the Yuva Sambhrama poster released.

Systematic and innovative cultural performances were emphasized, with joint rehearsals for multiple troupes in the same art form. Accommodation arrangements were directed for sportspersons and wrestlers from various districts. The Women’s Dasara Committee was tasked with selecting a suitable road for the rangoli competition, ensuring innovative and meaningful designs.

The Kannada and Culture Department committee was formed to select the 15 best tableaux from 30 districts for the Jamboo Savari. Ambassadors from foreign countries were invited, with three accepting the invitation. Theme-based models for the Dasara drone show were directed, awaiting Chief Minister approval. Adequate security, accommodation, and security arrangements were planned.

The Torchlight Parade would follow last year's format, with Yuva Dasara scheduled from October 13 to 17, featuring renowned choreographer Prabhudeva as the inaugural performer. Raitha Dasara would take place at J.K. Grounds from October 16 to 18, comprising a milking competition, farmer felicitations, and agricultural stalls. The Food Mela would be held at Maharaja’s College Grounds with 120 food stalls selected via lottery.

Yoga Dasara competitions were briefed, including Yoga-related events. The meeting was attended by MCC Deputy Commissioner Veena, Kannada and Culture Department Secretary Manjushree, MCC Commissioner M.K. Savita, and other officials.
