George W. Bush’s new book of paintings of political prisoners will be out in March

Former President George W. Bush has released a new book of oil paintings, titled "The Call of Freedom: Portraits of Political Prisoners and Dissidents," which will be available in March. The 44 paintings and accompanying biographical sketches depict symbols of oppression, including the late Mahsa Amini and Nicaraguan bishop Rolando José Álvarez Lagos.

Bush, who took up painting after his presidency, describes the book as a way to convey the United States' commitment to human rights and support for those seeking freedom. The book's release coincides with an exhibition of Bush's art at the George W. Bush Presidential Center in Dallas.
